Birthplace of Manuel Roxas
Found in Ilawood, a area of the location western of the plaza is a bahay na bato in which Pres. Brother Acuña Roxas was blessed. Reported a nationwide famous website, the marking included to the property in 1958 by the Filipino Historical Panel flows in part; "On this website in the area of Capiz, was blessed Chief executive Brother A. Roxas, 1 The month of january 1892. Hot Orator, Sensible Statesman, Genuine Economist, and actual patriot. Second Son of Gerardo Roxas and Rosario Acuña … Last president of the Filipino Earth and first president of the Republic of the Belgium, 1946-1948."
This home is probably one of the earliest in Roxas City; it made it the conflagration that used many homes in Roxas during Community War II. The home is on a lot which was once part of a more comprehensive part of property, had by Eleuterio Acuña, Pres. Roxas' expectant mothers grandmother. The property was got by Don Eleuterio's newest child, Jovita, who wed Conrado Barrios, a legal of the Courtroom of Appeal during the article war years. Conrado redesigned the home, shifting the settings of the areas and including a stairs written with the initials CJ. Enfant of the Conrado and Jovita resided in the home for a while, and had the cheaper tale got out. The home, however, has been uninhabited for time. Programs are to change the home into a way of life public and a public enjoying Pres. Roxas.
